no injuries or deaths. now is the time for a big cheen up. this is where the bar and restaurant at the bay side got hit hard by the hurricane. >> the gazebo is gone and the board walk they were rebuilding is in a parking lot. they did salvage the new angles. they hope to reopen by this weekend. >> let's get at it. >> reporter: crews have been restoring power and a large part of the pier did fall victim and they will inspect the dew system that held back sandy and want to make sure it can hold pack the next one. >> we will go back and see if

>> reporter: it is not easy living near a waste water plant but today it is even tougher. today, some of the water comes from the toilets of about a quarter of a million people. >> i thought it was from the septic tank. >> reporter: high winds took down one of the lines powering the plant but a second feeder line that served as a back up and that left the generators to handing 25 millions of gallons pouring into the river over a 12 hour period. >> it is something we need the work with bge on, getting more reliable power to this facility. without power, it just accountant run. >> reporter: they said bge

didn't send anyone out until seven hours after it was reported and it took seven hours to get repaired. >> i have ordered an audit to see what happened and make sure we prevent this. >> reporter: the sewage only made up about 1% of the water. >> treating the sewage will take 4-5 days to bring it back up to full capacity. until then, that percent will continue to seep into the river. >> we will see what areas look like a day after sandy came through. >> and spinning out over.

this one with the roller coaster out into the ocean. just to show you sandy in motion, this is worth taking a look at, this is an unbelievable storm structure, you can see the center eye wall and here is maryland and the storm coming in hundred miles to the north and had it been hundred miles south the destruction would have been horrible. the set up is for cool dry weather and we may get halloween in on a decent note. drying out after a few shower and we will be back after this. stay here.
